Our Story
A History of Hillel at Virginia Tech
The story of Jewish life at Virginia Tech is the story of individuals, each building something for future generations. Itβs the story of people who came to this campus and saw the potential of a community: A place for Jewish students and faculty to build friendships, to share meals and prayer and to commit to mitzvot and to the hard work of creating a better world.
The following panels tell that story β and we encourage all viewers to participate in this story in future years. With your effort and energy, you can learn from our traditions and texts, build coalitions of social justice, make new traditions, and build something better for the Hokies of tomorrow.
Hokies β students and parents, faculty and staff, alumni and friends β can make their own mark on this campus as members of an increasingly dynamic Jewish community. We do so authentically and proudly, activated by our heritage and our values, and ready for the challenges and opportunities of campus leadership well into the 21st century.
